Many of these designs were molded from second generation Batchelder molds. We took original Batchelder tiles, took impressions from them in clay, casted them in silicone, then made plaster molds. The designs are as close to the originals as you can get without being them.

We make no attempt to match Batchelder colors, however. We believe in firing to a higher temperature for durability and finish suitable for contemporary living. For each tile we fire at least 2 to 3 times to over 2000 degrees. The use of iron rich clay also produce more interesting glaze effects.
